I giggle
Feel the cold on my toes

I reach out
The air is thick and dense
As though a thick fog were hanging in the dry, dreary air

Crimson fills my vision
It covers and coats all I see

Shivers crawl down my spine leisurely
Taking their time and torturing me with their slow chills

My teeth begin to chatter as my shivering intensifies
Arms curl around my waist with eager lust

"Dear child,"
A silky voice hisses in my ear.
"Do you wish for freedom?"

I nod
A short subtile movement

"Y-yes..."
My voice is stiff and frozen

"Clasp my hands. I am death little one,"
He giggles
A surprisingly comfortable laugh that could melt the hearts of any maiden

Death is calm
He is convincing with his black cloak that offers an escape
An escape from a cold that was only upon I

I look back slowly,
For my movement is slowed by the freezing chills eating at me

He grins,
His teeth pointed and curved as though to tear through flesh

His eyes are a crimson red
They shine and sparkle as though the blood of the dead splashed in his iris.

"Dear child,
Accept fate..."
His voice coos me.

I nod and clasp his hands in my own.
Surprisingly,
They're warm and welcoming.
